Best Buddies High Schools

As a Best Buddies chapter member, what is my role with e-Buddies?

  1. Teach your Buddy to use email, and help him/her get an email address at a site such as Yahoo or Hotmail, if necessary.
  2. Encourage your chapter members to teach their Buddies to use email.
  3. If your Buddy becomes proficient with email, and is interested, help him or her sign up for e-Buddies.

Here's how to get your chapter involved in e-Buddies!

  • Talk with your High School Buddies about e-Buddies.
  • Demonstrate how to use the Internet and e-mail.
  • Plan an outing to the library or computer lab.
  • Suggest that one-to-one outings include Internet time.
  • Once Buddies are comfortable with email, include them in chapter-wide email lists.
  • Ask special education teachers or host site coordinators to include email time in the classroom.
  • Encourage Buddies to spend time on their own using email and the Internet, if possible.
