Best Buddies

Letter from the Director Ask Emerson Best Buddies Spotlight e-Buddy of the Month Tech Corner

contentsAsk Emerson

Dear Emerson,

Sometimes my e-Buddy writes things that are clearly against the e-Buddies code of conduct, and I donít know what to do. For example, last week she told me she was going to a party, and she wrote the full address of where the party was being held. Other times, she will write the address of her school, or her friendís house. I know e-Buddies arenít supposed to share any personal information like that!

Signed,
Concerned in Colorado

Dear Concerned,

You are correct that e-Buddies are not allowed to share personal information such as street addresses, phone numbers, or actual e-mail addresses.

I suggest politely reminding your e-Buddy of the rules Ė there is a good chance she just forgot. You should also alert a member of the e-Buddies staff, just to be safe.

If your e-Buddy continues to write personal information the e-Buddies staff can step in and ask her to please stop.

Remember, you can review the Code of Conduct at any time by visiting this link: /about/conduct.html.

Signing off,
Emerson
