I was at a meeting last month in Texas, and one of the participants and I grabbed a sandwich together afterward. As we chit-chatted about this and that, I learned that she had grown up on the same street as Erin, a friend that I have lost touch with. Allison promised to try to track Erin down, and I hope she does, because we lost touch before e-mail was commonly used. I feel certain that e-mail will help us stay in touch.
That encounter got me thinking about the power of friendship. Although Erin and I have not spoken in ten years or more, I smile whenever I think of her. That is one of the lasting gifts of friends – they bring us happiness.
Thanks to you, thousands of people involved in e-Buddies are experiencing the happiness of a friend. This month, National Volunteer Month, thank you for giving them that gift.
All the best,
