We had little rain here in Washington, D.C. this summer, many areas were under drought alerts, and much of the landscape was dry and brown. Everyone was talking about needing rain, wanting rain, hoping for rain – and last week, finally, it came. Rain fell from the sky steadily for three days running.
I liken rain after a dry spell to making a friend after not having one. Friends refresh us; they support our lives with interest and kindness. Every person here has become a friend through e-Buddies, and I hope you feel the way all of us felt when the first drops of rain touched us last week – glad and giddy and grateful.
All the best,
