Ask Emerson

Dear Emerson,

I just received an e-mail reminding me to send my e-Buddy a new message, but I was the person who e-mailed last and I'm waiting for a reply. Why did I get this reminder?

Signed,
Baffled in Buffalo

-------------------------

Dear Too Much,

Since e-Buddies is a once-a-week commitment, our system is designed to send automated reminder e-mails when it has been two weeks since you have sent an e-mail to your e-Buddy. If it has been three weeks since you last sent an e-mail to your e-Buddy, another reminder is sent.

By sending these e-mails, we don't mean to nag - we're simply letting you know that it has been a couple of weeks since you last e-mailed. We are also encouraging you to send your e-Buddy a quick e-mail to say hello. Perhaps your e-Buddy accidentally deleted your last message and still thinks it's your turn to write, or maybe your last message went in their spam folder without their knowledge. Our hope is that an e-mail from you will help spark a new e-mail exchange with your e-Buddy and keep you both on track.

Signing off,
Emerson
