Dear Friends,

One afternoon in mid-April, I arrived home from a business trip to discover that our house had been robbed. The rooms were ransacked, and some items with both sentimental and monetary value were missing.

As my husband and I dealt with this grim situation - calling the police, calling the landlord, calling our insurance company, calling a building contractor, calling appraisers, and cleaning up the mess - we talked about what had been stolen. The loss of physical items was upsetting, but, as my husband said, it is the loss of the memories that was the worst part. There were pictures in the camera that are irretrievable, and my grandfather's pocket watch is irreplaceable.

As we talked, we realized that what remains is what cannot be stolen. The happy times represented by those physical photos will live in memory, just as my grandfather's love will always be with me, even if I can no longer conjure up a specific memory by holding his watch.

As scary and upsetting as this was, we came away with a stronger realization that what matters most are the people we love and the moments we share. I hope the moments you share with your e-Buddy remain priceless.

All the best,
Lisa Derx
Vice President
