Best Buddies Spotlight

Rallying Community Groups to Plan a Best Buddies Benefit

Often we mention Best Buddies' amazing fundraising and awareness events that are happening across the United States and sometimes even across the globe. This month we ask you to consider how you can be a part of fundraising for Best Buddies in your hometown. In these challenging economic times, every fundraiser counts, whether the amount raised is $5 or $500,000.

Are you involved in a local social or community group? Many groups such as Kiwanis, Rotary, and Junior League plan special events throughout the year to benefit selected charities. If you are involved in a group that is in the process of choosing a charity to benefit from an upcoming fundraiser, consider asking your group to choose your local Best Buddies office, or better yet, our e-Buddies program.

If you're not involved in a local community group, call your nearest Best Buddies office to see how you can help with one of their upcoming fundraising events. Best Buddies offices are always looking for more volunteers to help with the many aspects of putting together a fundraiser. No job is too small. To find your nearest Best Buddies office, visit www.bestbuddies.org.

Money raised for Best Buddies is judiciously spent, with the majority of these funds directly applied to the enrichment of our programs. Our total annual budget demonstrates that 91% of all monetary contributions is allocated to one of Best Buddies six programmatic divisions that directly integrates people with intellectual disabilities. Best Buddies is rated as a four star charity by Charity Navigator.
