Jobs Participant excels at Eaton Vance Investment Managers

By Jake Laverriere
Best Buddies Massachusetts

Billy O'Brien, a 40-year-old man who began working with Best Buddies in September, acquired a position working as an Office Services Assistant with Eaton Vance Investment Managers in October of last year after having been unemployed for more than a year prior.

The progression that Billy has achieved within the company has been extraordinary. Over the past several months, Billy has grown to successfully take on and contribute to a variety of projects within the mailroom, the print/copy center, the facilities department, and the company cafe.

Among his many duties, Billy delivers mail throughout multiple floors within Eaton Vance's downtown Boston office, which affords him a good deal of interaction with many of the company's approximately 1,000 employees at that location.

In this and other tasks, Billy's consistent performance, punctuality, dependability, and willingness to contribute to the team have earned him a great deal of respect among his coworkers.

Beyond Billy's work performance, he and his coworkers have impacted one another greatly in their unified efforts to create a truly cohesive and integrated work atmosphere. Whether they are working on a project together, ribbing one another in passing, or watching a game show together at lunch time, one visit to their offices makes it quickly apparent that everyone is smiling and happy to be there.

Numerous Eaton Vance employees throughout varying divisions of the company, keeping true to the company's widespread reputation of genuine integrity and personal attention, warmly welcomed Billy as a new member of the team, and have since voiced the fact that they love what he has brought to them as a dedicated coworker, and as a person who enjoys coming to work each morning.

Billy continues to work and grow at Eaton Vance. He is a man who loves his job, and he hopes to continue his career as an Eaton Vance employee for many years to come.
