Here is what Dan has to say about e-Buddies.

Dear Friends,

Hello There! I am a Special Olympics Athlete. I would like to take the time to share with you a little about me and how you can help your athletes have fun online using a computer.

I have been in Special Olympics for many years. In 1999, I went to the World Summer games in North Carolina where I competed in Bocce. In January of 2000, I watched The Loretta Claiborne Story on TV. I even went to Washington, D.C., to meet Tim Shriver at Special Olympics International. I was in Spirit Magazine, even on the Special Olympics website for a little bit.

Mr. Shriver told me about e-Buddies. It is a great way to have fun on the 'net. You go to and answer questions about yourself. Then, after screening, you get matched up with someone and the fun begins.

My e-Buddy and I talk about everything and only things we care to share and it's fun. You get joy out of writing back and forth to one another. It feels great to write an e-Buddy! All you have to do is write at least once a week, but you can write more if you want to. It's up to you and your e-buddy. Both persons get joy out of writing each other.

I hope you will take the time to join e-Buddies. So - do it! You'll be happier than before and be glad you did.

Your Friend,

Daniel Thompson
