Dear Emerson,

I really love e-Buddies! My e-Buddy doesn't write me often enough. I know we're only supposed to write each other once a week, but I would like him to write more than that. What should I do?

Loves to e-mail

Dear Loves,

It's great that you like writing your e-Buddy so much. If you want to him to write more often, you could ask him. Remember that he may be busy with work or school, or he may only have access to e-mail once a week, so try to understand.

If your e-Buddy can't write you more often, why don't you ask friends, teachers, family members, and other members of your community if they have e-mail? If they do, ask if they would mind exchanging e-mails with you. Remember, not everyone has a lot of time to write e-mails, so don't be upset if they don't write you as often as you'd like.

You can also try to remember all the things you'd like to write to your e-Buddy over the course of the week, and then send a long e-mail to him once a week. Sometimes one long e-mail is just as good as lots of shorter e-mails!

If you still would like someone to write more often, we can match you with a second e-Buddy. Contact the e-Buddies staff at to let us know if you would like an additional e-Buddy.

Happy e-mailing!

Signing off,
